According to the New York Times, about 48.8% of the world’s population has received as
least one dose of a vaccination against COVID-19. The percentage of people vaccinated
varies between and within countries (see link above). Some of the differences in vaccination
rates are influenced by resources availability. For example, wealthy countries have been able
