JOURNAL ENTRY 2: TAKE A TOUR
“Rocks and minerals form the ground beneath your feet, the mountains that tower above you, and the canyons that stretch across the land. There are thousands of different minerals and three different types of rock formations: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Studying rocks and minerals can tell us about the history of the land and the animals that lived there.” (NPS)
In this journal entry, you will find out more about the rocks and minerals in national parks and what they tell us about park stories. Select one of the parks from the following list: https://www.nps.gov/subjects/rocks/visit.htm.
In two paragraphs, share why you selected the park (remember to include the park’s name); what you found interesting about its rocks, minerals, and landforms; something that surprised you, and whether you would visit the park in person if you have the opportunity to do so.
Your journal entry must be typed and should be double spaced (2.0), 11 or 12-point, and in a font that is easy to read, such as Times, Arial, or Calibri. Please refer to the resource(s) that you selected in your paper.
