Psychological factors affecting an adolescent’s ability to concentrate upon the instruction of a teacher in a classroom setting
What are the top 3 psychological factors that affect an adolescent’s ability to concentrate upon a teacher’s instruction in a classroom setting?
Students at the adolescence phase face several changes in their bodies and mental capacity to study and achieve academic excellence. The students face stress, anxiety, pressure, and depression. The psychological problems are part of each person’s growth and development. During the adolescence stage, a student will face the pressure of achieving more than their ability. The pressure will mount to anxiety and stress, and later depression.
The study will utilize experimental techniques in searching for data and also the analysis. Exploratory research aims at investigating an issue through a detailed investigation. In this case, the adolescents face a learning challenge, which calls for further investigation to identify the problem and provide a solution. Exploratory research enables the researcher to dissect the issues using foundational questions (Pollfish, 2021). The foundational questions include: What is the aim of the study? What is the problem? What areas should one put the adequate concentration in? The questions will help in the qualitative analysis.
The keywords for this study will include adolescents, challenges in learning, classroom, instructions, teachers, and ability. The strategy will utilize the use of “why,” “how,” and “what” to dissect the problem and provide recommendations (Pollfish, 2021). From this angle, other study questions will emerge. The questions are; how can the adolescents overcome the challenges they face when trying to concentrate in the classroom? Why are adolescents the ones facing the challenge of focus in school? Answering these questions will require the use of a questionnaire and interviews. These two tools of research are essential in gathering data for the study.
