Company Selection Procter & Gamble（Only do the red part(Analysis of ratios and cash flows) in grading template！！！！20 points write up+presentation）Please explain how to calculate and do the presentation Thank you.
In keeping with the main topics of the course (strategic, accounting, and financial analysis), teams of students will prepare a report containing all of these elements for a selected public company. Each team’s report should include the following:
An analysis of the company’s competitive and economic environment, as well as the company’s strategy. You will also need to explain how the company’s environment and strategy affect the accounting numbers they provide.
An analysis of the company’s financial reports for special items, quality of earnings, and evaluation of potential red flags.
An analysis of the company’s financial reports for profitability and risk, using techniques such as accruals, ratios, and scores.
Students have the option to form and let me know their own full or partial teams (i.e., four or fewer) by September 8. I will fill out these teams and divideremaining students into teams by September 10. Your team should select a public company and inform me by September 22.
Class on October ** will consist of 8-10 minute presentations by randomly selected teams. Each team member must present. All teams will turn in their presentation slides with their report.
Acceptable companies should meet the following criteria:
Financial reports based on US generally accepted accounting principles.
Sales in most recent year greater than $500 million and less than $500 billion.
At least a three year operating history, with positive earnings in one or two of those years and positive book equity in all years.
No major mergers or divestitures in the last three years that dramatically changed the size or strategy of the company.
Avoid companies in banking, insurance, or other financial services because their accounting issues differ substantially from the norm that will be the focus of the class.
Students should review the company’s financial statements and other disclosures to verify it satisfies the above criteria. Students can use any public information for the analysis, including annual reports, news articles, and analyst reports. However, remember the course objective is to learn to do financial statement analysis yourself rather than be able to cite someone else’s work. Students should model their reports after the sample projects and analyst reports provided on Canvas. However, keep in mind that the assignment was slightly different in prior years, so the sample projects will (1) have some items I do not require of you and (2) be missing some items I do require of you.
